Description
The rapid and remarkable development of artificial intelligence, along with its great and free applications, has brought us many benefits in many fields, most importantly in teaching and learning. However, along with the positive aspects of using AI in education are challenges and negative effects that lecturers and students need to consider and find solutions for. In teaching and learning translation and interpretation subjects at university level, the use of AI is necessary and inevitable. However, students need to be aware of the undesirable effects of overusing AI while learning and practicing translation and interpretation subjects. This study was conducted by surveying approximately two hundred English Language students at HUFLIT University to find out the challenges of overusing AI in learning translation and interpretation subjects, and to explore feasible solutions to overcome those disadvantages. The results of the study can be used by students and lecturers on how to use AI to achieve the highest efficiency for each person in translation and interpretation courses.
